JANICE’s women’s sunglasses are made from acetate. A biopolymer derived from renewable sources: wood and cotton. Acetate is a truly amazing material; it has a deep luster and transparency. The higher the quality of the acetate, the better the luster. Because acetate is a sheet material, our glasses are carefully handcrafted and polished.

The lenses in our sunglasses are made of CR39, a resin. This is also the material used to make prescription lenses in optical stores. The lenses are smudge-resistant and scratch-resistant. Plus, they offer the best sun protection your eyes deserve. The lenses block nearly 100% of all harmful UVA and UVB rays and carry the UV400 label.

The tips and hinges have a gold-plated finish, as does the logo, which is gold-plated and incorporated into the temples.
